TrueBlood Series Finale Season 4 - Buy True Blood HBO Christmas Gifts

To everyones surprise Sookie is killed by an escaped lion from the zoo. Sam goes into a rage and shifts into lion form to begin his great cathunt. While in lion form he is shot by hunters who gladly place his mounted head on their wall.

Unfortunately, the head reverts back to human form and they are all arrested for murder.

Okay, none of this is true.

You realize the TrueBlood Series is based off of a book series, one that is ongoing?

Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries have been quite popular for sometime. Since I have read and listened to every book in the series to date, there are not many surprises in the TrueBlood series.

That being said, the fresh and imaginative way in which the characters have been portrayed and some character rewrites leaves the show very exciting for me and is in fact very rewatchable.

Alan Ball can be given credit for this, he previously wrote and directed the outstanding HBO series Six Feet Under.

Sunday Night HBO has become a tradition in our household now, it is one of the few shows that we can agree on.

This series is great, its funny, sometimes unintentionally, has a great collection of mythical characters thrown into modern society, lots of sex, lots of magic and lots of fun all round.

You can read the books (or listen to them) without spoiling the HBO series for yourself.

Alan Ball handles the characters and settings in a way sleeker, sexier setting. Charlaine Harris's treatment can be goofy and clumsy sometimes but is still very enjoyable. She has  helpful but annoying trend of recapping lines and plot points throughout the books, you certainly do not need to start at the beginning of the series any book can be read (or listened to)  from any point.

After devouring the book series and waiting for the next series, we were forced to look for similar authors to keep our fix.

Out of many, the very best, maybe even better is a series written by Karen Chance...it is very,very similar and better written (stylistically) if not in storyline too.
