The following is one suggested method for preparing an online campaign and pursuing your niche goals with the purpose of increasing income.
The process is arranged to assist those with relative familiarity with online promotions and content producing and focuses on a sub-section of the internet: HubPages.
The resources provided and the following information could be used as a case study and one suggested method for pursuing such goals in the greater frontier of the interwebs.
Online Campaign - Required Resource #1
Unless you are a media buyer, the first required resource in an online campaign is web real estate. The internet and search engines are content driven. You need a place that you can post content and have a reasonable level of control in how it is used , managed and designed.
Writing at Hubpages is a great training ground and resource for this pre-requisite. You may also want to consider your own hosting and domains to work in conjunction with your Hubpages efforts,
#2 -Selecting your niche or topics - What to write about
Depending on your expertise and interest, find your niche. Look around you, look at the things that attract you and you will find untapped markets for readership and income everywhere.

#3 - How should I write about it - Is there a market - Keyword Selection
How you write about your niche and how you present the information makes a huge difference in your successful quest for more readers or income.
Online Writing and marketing has the massive benefit of being rich with stats, most offered freely or at a cost that is minimal in relation to the benefits received from the successful implementation of the opportunities the stats present.
A successful online campaign takes time, this time investment should not be pursued without being properly prepared. The 60 day Challenge at HubPages involves a minimum of 60 days committed to writing and promoting, do not waste your effort by being haphazard or incomplete in your research methods.
Because of the importance of this matter, the following resources are suggested:
The Challenge - Will provide you with a free 100 day Trial to market Samurai and related videos towards using the tool and keyword research in general - It is suggested that all 60DC'ers take advantage of this offer. A caveat: learning the tool is a challenge on its own, dont allow yourself to be overly distracted by the tool. You have a hundred days to use it - including 70 where you will not be committed to producing content.
The Keyword Academy - The 60 Day Challenge was created as an upgrade on the pre-existing 30 Day Challenge or 30 hubs in 30 days effort at HubPages. The 30 hubs in 30 days challenge is a direct result of the success that the founders of TKA had when creating HubPages with proper keyword research and promotion. TKA indirectly created the 30 hubs in 30 days challenge! Currently (Aug 2010) they are offering a free trial for 30 days and 33/monthly following that. I would like to suggest that everyone get the trial and take advantage of at least the keyword training videos. But, as it is such a great but time intensive program it may be best reserved to take advantage of your trial directly after the 60DC is complete. Its a pickle - be best prepared for your current campaign or reserve teh opportunity for future campaigns - you decide the timing.
Micro Niche Finder - This is my favorite keyword tool. It very good. It costs money because it is very good. If oyu have money to invest into your writing business this is a suggested tool. You have 60 days for a no questions asked refund. That is a fortuitous length of time.

#5 - Automating your online promotions
Before you begin producing content you should use the power of rss feeds to create an automated promotional network. It is incredibly easy and takes very little time. This step only has to be done once and any future work created on the feeds you promote will be automatically found and promoted.

Using these simple to set up rss feed promotion techniques each of your hubs can potentially reach thousands of sites and viewers without you ever lifting a finger outside of publish or post.
Using hashtags (#[keyword]) can assist your tweets in being seen and indexed by interested parties.

#5 - Formatting your content as the Search engines request - On Page SEO
On Page SEO - As you compose your hubs, use these on page seo tips - these very simple factors can make huge differences on how your page is ranked.
These are the factors to consider:

- Natural repetition in body of content
- ALT attribute
- File Name

60 Day Challenge Contests
Contest 1: Logo Contest for the 60DC -
I have recently created one logo, lets see your designs!
I will present the size guidelines - 800 x 200 banner, 16 x 16 favicon, and 300 x 300 rectangle - then we will have an open poll in the HP forums.
The designer with the most votes will receive 1 years free wordpress hosting for 1 site.
The start date begins now - the contest thread will begin 14 days from this point.
Contestants will expect that their logos will be used by all team members in on and offsite promotions but original ownership of the image will be retained by the designer.
All logo contestants will be featured at the 60Dc blog with a link back to their profile.
Contest 2: Most Improved Stats in 60 days
Take a snapshot or right click and save the traffic stats image from your HP stats screen. Post it on your Hublog and send a copy to me (as a Timestamp) at the end of 60 days the most improved Hub author will receive one year free of wordpress hosting for one site and the option of a featured article at the 60Dc blog.
Weekly contest: Most attractive Layout and Design
Each week I will nominate (we can create a more democratic process if anyone wants to volunteer) 5 hubs out of the potential 200+ that are created and we will have a poll thread in the HP forums. Who can design the hubs that look the most like a true page and the least like a formulaic Hubpage . Winners get bragging rights and a feature at the 60DC blog.
This contest was spurred by the creations of Wavegirl22 and Edweirdo during the first 60DC.

Can I post my links in the HubPages forums?
As a 30 hubs in 30 days participant you may use the designated forum thread to post your hub - but there is little conceivable benefit to doing so.
Do I have to care about making money? Is this only for money?
Absolutely not, the goal is to increase your traffic and readership its up to you to try and ttarct your crowd, the viewers that you want to have. If income generation is your goal then focus on attracting that type of traffic. Increased targeted traffic can be used to bring attention to your offline businesses or promote your non-commercial writing as you search for Publishers or traditional writing gigs.
I dont understand the vocabulary and jargon you use! What are you saying?
The terminology used to describe a lot of these practices makes it sound far more difficult then it really is.. (other than keyword research..which actually is kind of difficult) translated its write, write, write , click ,click , paste here submit, post, tweet rinse repeat!

This is a personal challenge and you dont have to do anything. Some elements of the challenge and how it is organized are needed just to create a connection within the group. Anything else that is suggested is just that..suggestions relating to current best practices.
What makes you an expert?
Nothing, except perhaps I create a profit that can be lived upon.The entire 60Dc Curriculum and process is a retroactively created suggestion list that was made in hopes of bringing attention to areas I saw lacking in some participants processes. Much of the basis of the challenge itself is from pre-existing and successful Hubpages practices. I would hope that you use any of the suggested resources as starting points to make your own decisions about what best practices are to reach your goals. After seeing your own results and checking out the authoritative and cited sources that I draw from be sure to make your own decisions. I stand on the shoulders of giants here only as an aggregater of research, rarely, if ever as an innovator.But always as a practitioner!

How can I help my teammates quality?
It is suggested that all challenge hubs set their comments to "moderate", when you visit a team members hubs and you see a glaring typo in the title or have helpful advice about presentation or layout share it in one comment, follow up with an additional comment that has any positive feedback you may want to add. This way the hub author can make corrections and publish your second comment, This quality and writers workshop aspect is included in the process, helpful criticism is suggested.

Hey sunforged I'm new to HubPages and I want to join the 60dc. I posted comment in the forum you set up, is that all you have to do to be one of the 30 challengers?
I really have to mull all this over. Thanks, sunforged. I really have to investigate the possibilities, here. I think I'll save it as a favorite, for now. I'm a little overwhelmed and just a little confused by the information already presented.

Great Hub, SF - it is nice to have it all laid out in order. There are a few things that I want to improve on from the last challenge, so this is very useful advice.

Thanks for the Info Sunforged, today was my last day of my current job, off to commiserate later this evening and tomorrow I have to go collect my final Cheque. After that I am going to be going for this challenge.... Did lots of research yesterday and found some surprising results, I'm really starting to think about what I am doing now, my niches for the challenge may change over the coming days.

Thank you for a great article. When does the 60 days start? Is it to late to join? I was off writing a book, so I have not been very active on Hub Pages until recently. Published 2 hubs in 2 days and hope to keep going, but if the challenge hasn't started yet, I will focus on laying some eggs in my account basket, and incubate them until it is time to hatch (publish) them for the challenge.
